The Sarasota Opera Verdi Cycle and Masterworks Revival Series continue with his early-period drama I due Foscari. Francesco Foscari, the doge of Venice, is torn by duty to his office and the love for his son who has been falsely accused of treason. Based on a true story, it is a compelling and atmospheric score that has not been heard in a U.S. opera house for over thirty years.
