The Sarasota Opera House reopens with one of Verdi's most popular operas. The story of the hunchback jester Rigoletto as he tries to shield his daughter from the evils of the world turns to tragedy when she falls in love with the licentious Duke of Mantua. Rigoletto inaugurated Sarasota Opera's Verdi Cycle in 1989 and has been the opera most requested by our audience.
