Tituba, The Crucible

After three seasons as an Apprentice Artist, Ms. Mitchell returns to as a Studio Artist to sing Tituba in The Crucible. She has appeared on the Sarasota Opera mainstage in Madama Butterfly and Halka.

Recently, Ms. Mitchell sang the world premiere of Songs from the F Train, a set of songs composed by Gilda Lyons, that were commissioned by American Opera Projects, The Walt Whitman Project, and The Fort Greene Park Conservancy. Another work premiered with American Opera Projects was Lee Hoiby’s opera This is the Rill Speaking. In concert she has performed Verdi’s Requiem, Brahm’s Alto Rhapsody and Rossini’s Stabat Mater. She has performed at The Tanglewood Music Center; and, while at The Manhattan School of Music, appeared in Matinu’s Mirandolina.

Ms. Mitchell was a district winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions. She has received awards from the Giulio Gari Foundation, The Gerda Lissner Foundation and was a Van Lier Fellowship recipient from the Harlem School of the Arts.
