Mr. Corvino sang the role of David in Sarasota Opera’s L’amico Fritz in 2009; the title role in the 2008 production of Rigoletto; Francesco in I masnadieri during the 2005-06 season and appeared with Sarasota Opera in the 2006 Up Close, Informal On Stage and the 2004 Opera’s Great Moments concerts. He has performed the leading Verdi baritone roles with opera companies throughout the country. With New York City Opera he sang Germont in La traviata (also with Opera Illinois), Count Di Luna in Il trovatore with Opera Illinois, the title role in Rigoletto with Connecticut Opera, Utah Opera Festival and Opera Illinois, Renato in Un ballo in maschera with Anchorage Opera and the title role in Nabucco with Utah Festival Opera. For New York Grand Opera’s Viva Verdi Festival he appeared as Iago in Otello, Germont in La traviata, Rodrigue in the French version of Don Carlos and Stankar in Stiffelio.
Recent and upcoming engagements include Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor with Opera Tampa; for Utah Festival Opera, Alfio in Cavalleria rusticana, Tonio in Pagliacci, Amonasro in Aida and Lescaut in Manon Lescaut; as well as the title role in Rigoletto with Stadttheater Giessen. He returned to New York City Opera as Germont, Alfio and Tonio; and sang Iago in Otello with Fresno Opera.
Other roles include Marcello in La bohème (New York City Opera, Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre), Sharpless in Madama Butterfly (New York City Opera, Utah Festival Opera, Central City Opera, Opera Northeast), Figaro in Il barbiere di Siviglia (Opera Illinois) and Ping in Turandot (New York City Opera). He has appeared in concert performances of Alfano’s Risurrezione and Cilea’s L’Arlesiana with Teatro Grattacielo at Alice Tully Hall, La Juive and Lucrezia Borgia with Opera Orchestra of New York at Carnegie Hall and the 2007 Montreal Opera Gala.
