Rigging

As soon as the stage could support weight, steel crews began reinforcing the structure at the top of the flytower which supports all the scenery and lightign equipment hoisted above the stage.

Following the steel crew, a team began installing the rigging system, for raising and lowering the lights and scenery. Dozens and dozens of cables were run from the overhead steel down to the stage, ready to be tied to long batons on to which the equipment is mounted. (a few can be seen at the left of the above photo with yellow caps on the ends).

Workers in lifts install lights in the scenery bay while new rigging on the stage is tested in the background.
