Job Title:     Rehearsal Administrator

Reports to:     Director of Production

Works Closely with:  Director of Artistic Administrator and Company Manager, Stage Management, Music   and Artistic Staff

About Sarasota Opera
Sarasota Opera, which owns its 1926 historic theater that was renovated in 2008, produces four operas in repertory from January to March, in addition to one opera and a Youth Opera production in the fall. Additionally, throughout the opera season, Sarasota Opera offers special events and concerts. 

Duties may include but are not limited to:
• Prepare, maintain, and distribute the daily and weekly schedules for the Sarasota Opera season in a timely manner, keeping accurate records of the schedule and changes as they occur
• Coordinate daily with stage management, artistic, and production/technical staff to ascertain the scheduling needs of each department
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the Wig & Make up, and Costume departments in relation to schedule all fitting and call times 
• Assist the Director of Artistic Administration in the daily operations and administration of the Artistic department, as needed
• Provide logistical support for all Sarasota Opera Outreach
• Assist in the planning and running of pre-performances lectures and other audience’s engagement programs 
• Assist in researching for future seasons
• Schedule and provide support for all language coaching

Position Requirements   
The successful candidate will possess the following knowledge and skills.

• At least 2 years of experience in performing arts scheduling for a repertory company
• Opera literacy is required, including detailed study of the current season’s operas
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
• Experience with event management software
• Evening and weekend work required
• Driver’s license required

Dates- Applicant must be available for Fall and Winter seasons
Fall Season: Sep. 25th to Nov. 22st 2017
Winter Season: Jan. 3rd to Mar. 28th, 2018

This is a seasonal position; the ideal candidate has the potential to return for future seasons.  The rate of pay is based on previous experience. Housing and travel provided.
