    Position: Accounting & Development Assistant

    Reports to: Finance Director and Senior Development Officer

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Accounts Receivable responsibilities include:
      • Process daily cash, check and charge deposits
      • Create and post related accounting entries
      • Maintain pledge receivable detail reports
      • Create invoices for miscellaneous items
      • Maintain rental contracts and deposits
    • Payroll responsibilities include:
      • Maintain accurate individual employee payroll system information
      • Process employee weekly & semi-monthly payroll checks and transfers
      • Create post related accounting entries
      • Provide accurate and timely tax reporting, adhering to IRS regulations
      • Protect payroll information and maintain employee confidentiality
    • Development responsibilities include:
      • Process donations and acknowledgement letters timely and accurately
      • Billing, processing and maintenance of Annual Fund pledges
      • Maintain accurate electronic and hard-copy donor files
      • Facilitate, monitor and assist with matching gift programs
      • Assist with Opera events and performances as time permits
    • General:
      • Reconcile accounting system totals to fundraising system totals
      • Work with auditors to ensure accurate annual reports
      • Other duties as assigned

    Hours of Work:  Full-time position with time-off restrictions during seasonal periods
                            Occasional evening and weekend work

    Required Skills: 2+ years accounting experience
                           Excel, Word and Outlook experience
                           Organized, Accurate and Analytical

    Preferred Skills:  Tessitura Fundraising software, MIP/Abila Accounting software and Arts experience preferred.
