Sarasota Opera to Present Free Concerts - Thursdays at Four

Sarasota Opera once again will open its doors to the public this fall, offering a series of free Lobby Concerts. Entitled “Thursdays at Four,” all performances will be held in the Victoria Leopold Grand Atrium of the Sarasota Opera House.
The concerts are scheduled for Thursdays, October 22, 29, and November 5, at 4 p.m. Sarasota Opera’s Fall Apprentice Artists who are performing in La traviata will be featured. Accompanied by piano, they will perform solos and ensembles from operas, operettas, and musical theater in a variety of languages including Italian, French, and English. The final concert on November 5, entitled Walt Whitman: His Poetry and Music, will feature music from operas that the poet saw and commented on and popular music of his day.
