Spend Valentine’s Day with Sarasota Opera Artists

The Sarasota Opera Artists Concert, an annual favorite with local opera patrons, will take place this year for Sunday, February 14, at 8 p.m. Always a highlight of the season, this entertaining concert will feature the principal and Studio Artists of the 2010 Winter Festival performing popular songs and arias.
Selections will include such favorites as “Ebben? Ne andrò lontana” from Catalani’s La Wally, “Non piu mesta” from Rossini’s La Cenerentola; “Un bel dì” from Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, “If I Loved You” from Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Carousel, “My Man’s Gone Now” from Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess, the Final Trio from Gounod’s Faust, “I’m Gonna Wash That Man” from Rodgers and Hammerstein’s South Pacific, and much more. Tickets from $15 to $40 are still available.
Winter Festival tickets start at $19 and are available for performances through March 21, featuring Cavalleria rusticana/Pagliacci by Mascagni and Leoncavallo respectively, Mozart’s The Magic Flute, Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, and Verdi’s Giovanna d’Arco (Joan of Arc).
