Once again, Sarasota Opera will present its winter free concert series, always a community favorite. This year’s lineup of Fridays at Noon concerts are themed, beginning with “Company Favorites,” on February 26; followed by “Operetta,” on March 5; and “Sarasota Opera Souvenir,” a selection of pieces from operas that have been performed at the Sarasota Opera House, on March 12. These concerts feature Apprentice Artists and take place in the Opera House Lobby at noon.
In addition, the popular Covers at Three, featuring Studio Artists who are understudying principal roles at Sarasota Opera this season, will take place Friday, March 12 at 3 p.m., in the Peterson Great Room of Sarasota Opera House.
Finally, Apprentice Artists will perform in a special Fridays at Four event, March 19, at 4 p.m. in the Opera House Lobby. The program, “American Renaissance,” will include works from American opera and songs based or inspired by American writers Whitman, Dickinson, Hawthorne, Poe, and more.
Seating for these free concerts is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis. The Sarasota Opera House is at 61 N. Pineapple Avenue, Sarasota. For more information, call (941) 366-8450.
