Looking for a romantic evening out for just the two of you? Then mark your calendar for Friday, March 5, when couples will be able to enjoy dinner out followed by an evening at the opera while someone else takes care of your children.
Sarasota Opera has partnered with Café Amici to offer a very special package including:
∙ A three-course dinner at Café Amici with a short, pre-performance talk at the restaurant.
∙ Two tickets for Cavalleria rusticana/Pagliacci.
∙ Free childcare for toddlers and up.
Your evening begins at Sarasota Opera House, where you drop off the children at 6 p.m. Then it’s on to Café Amici, 1371 Main Street (just around the corner from the theater), where you’ll enjoy a delicious, three-course dinner of authentic regional Italian cuisine. At the end of your meal, a member of the Opera staff will give a brief talk on the operas you will see that night. Walk back to the Opera House to see the performance, after which you’ll pick up your children. Cost of this special evening out is $150 per couple for balcony seats or $200 per couple for orchestra seats.
Only a limited number of these tickets and childcare spots, which must be reserved in advance, are available, so call or visit Sarasota Opera’s Box office now to reserve your place. The Box Office can be reached at (941) 366-8450, ext. 1. Visit in person at 61 N. Pineapple Avenue, in the Pavilion Building adjacent to the opera House, entrance under the green awning.
