Sarasota Opera to Raise the Curtain on 52nd Season

Sarasota Opera will symbolically raise the curtain on the company’s upcoming 52nd season with its annual Curtain Raiser Dinner to be held Sunday, October 24, 2010 beginning at 6:30 p.m., at the Restaurant at Michael’s On East. Since its inception in 1991, this event has traditionally ushered in Sarasota Opera’s social season. Studio Artists from the Fall Opera Season, under the direction of Kristen Kemp, will perform a special program for dinner guests.
Back by popular demand is the auction of several exciting, one-of-kind experiences, including:
• A private concert in your home performed by our own La Cenerentola star, mezzo-soprano Heather Johnson
• A recital in your own home performed by our own Youth Opera Music Director and accomplished pianist, Michael Wittenburg
• A gourmet meal for you and your guests in your home, prepared by our own French-trained chef, Executive Director, Susan T. Danis
• Enjoy Dinner with the Divas, the stars of our Winter Opera Festival
• And many more
