Sarasota Opera Guild’s objectives are to:

Promote and increase the appreciation for opera in the community in conjunction with the Sarasota Opera Association;
Encourage and assist young singers;
Sponsor projects to raise funds for the Sarasota Opera.

SOG SPECIAL EVENTS

Throughout the year, Sarasota Opera Guild offers presentations and other educational and informative programs. Refreshments including wine and hors d'oeuvres are served at the social hour after the programs.

42^nd Annual Poinsettia Luncheon

Please join us for our 42nd annual Poinsettia Luncheon! Enjoy delicious food, inspiring performances by the Circus Arts Conservatory and an amazing silent auction while supporting the programs of Sarasota Opera. Don your best red-white-and-blue attire and celebrate 250 years of the USA in style!

All are invited to attend these social gatherings to learn more about the Guild and Sarasota Opera free of charge. The Social and Singers are generally held from September through March, skipping December. Reception with refreshments starts at 10:30 AM, followed by a short business meeting, and concludes with a special performance by Sarasota Opera singers. Free.

Opera Prologues

Opera Prologues provide insightful background on the season's Sarasota Opera performances. Please join us for our first Prologue of the season on Hansel and Gretel, a joint event with Manatee Opera Guild, in the Kamlet Library of the Opera House on October 23 at 10:30 am. The lecture will be presented by Maestro Anthony Barrese, who will also conduct the opera production. Donation for each session is $25 including refreshments.
