Sarasota Opera Guild’s objectives are to:

Promote and increase the appreciation for opera in the community in conjunction with the Sarasota Opera Association;
Encourage and assist young singers;
Sponsor projects to raise funds for the Sarasota Opera.

SOG SPECIAL EVENTS

Throughout the year, Sarasota Opera Guild offers presentations and other educational and informative programs. Refreshments including wine and hors d'oeuvres are served at the social hour after the programs.

Installation and End of Season Celebration

Sarasota Opera Guild end of season celebration and installation of officers at the Venice Yacht Club.
April 22 at 11 a.m.

Featuring performances by Venice Symphony musicians Amy Collins and Rene Miska. Buffet brunch including bacon & sausage, french toast & toppings, quiche, frittata, soup & salad bar, chicken/egg/tuna salad trio, cookies, coffee, tea and soft drinks all inclusive.

Summer Salons

Please join us for our Summer Salon series at the Stoneybrook Golf & Country Club in June, July and August beginning at noon.

Entertainment will feature Maestro Jessé Martins, Assistant Conductor of the Sarasota Opera and Youth Opera Music Director, who will lead a group of talented musicians.

General Meetings - Social and Singers

All are invited to attend these social gatherings to learn more about the Guild and Sarasota Opera free of charge. The Social and Singers are generally held from September through March, skipping December. Reception with refreshments starts at 10:30 AM, followed by a short business meeting, and concludes with a special performance by Sarasota Opera singers. Free.

Opera Prologues

Opera Prologues provide insightful background on the season's Sarasota Opera performances. The first of five Prologues begins on October 13 at 5 PM. (Please note the time change.) Donation for each session is $25, which includes wine and appetizers following the program. The next four Prologues will be held in January 2026.
