Work closely with the Patron Services Department in implementing earned income strategies and with the Development Department in marketing and communications for unearned revenue campaigns.

Summary:
 Sarasota Opera, which owns its 1926 historic theater, typically produces four operas in repertory from January to March as well as a Fall mainstage and a Youth Opera production in October and November. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, this season the company will be producing four chamber operas in repertory between February and April. Additionally, throughout the opera season a myriad of tours, special events and concerts are also produced. The facility is used year-round for arts groups and community events which are also a part of the position’s responsibilities.

 The primary responsibility of this position is maintaining the cleanliness of the Sarasota Opera Complex including the Steinwachs Artist Residences. They will also be responsible for helping set up for meeting and other events in the Sarasota Opera House.

 The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Technician is maintenance and repair of the Sarasota Opera Complex including the Steinwachs Artist Residences.  They will also be responsible for the cleanliness and overall appearances of the Artist Residences.

Auditions

Apprentice Artists Program

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we don’t anticipate holding auditions for the Sarasota Opera Apprentice program in September as usual. Check back in Sept/Oct for more information about future plans. Please do not submit information at this time.

Studio Artists Program

Singers who wish to audition for the Studio Artists Program must have:

  • Career potential as an operatic soloist
  • Minimum of three seasons experience with nationally recognized young artists programs
  • Have performed a minimum of three substantial operatic roles with orchestra
  • Impeccable professional references (references will be checked)
