Hear Tomorrow's Stars Today at the Annual Schmidt Vocal Competition Nationals
Hosted in partnership with Sarasota Opera
Sarasota Opera is thrilled to welcome the Schmidt Vocal Competition Nationals to the Sarasota Opera House on May 30 and May 31, 2026. Join us for an inspiring weekend showcasing outstanding high school classical singers from across the country as they compete for national recognition, cash awards, and early-career opportunities.
These remarkable young artists earned their place on the national stage through competitive preliminary and semi-final rounds. Now, finalists perform in Sarasota for respected judges, educators, and industry leaders. Whether you are a classical voice enthusiast, a supporter of young talent, or simply looking for an unforgettable cultural experience, enjoy art songs, operatic arias, and a “first listen” to the voices helping shape the future of opera.
