Celebrate Verdi's Birthday

The famed Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi's birthday is on October 10 and, as the only opera company in the world to have performed all of his written works, Sarasota Opera is, of course, celebrating the occasion!

Join us for Friday, October 10 at 7 P.M. at the Sarasota Opera House for a special screening of the documentary film VIVA VERDI! about Casa de riposo in Milan, a retirement home for singers and musicians established by Verdi in 1896.

"Among my works, the one I like the best is the home that I've built in Milan for accommodating old singers not favored by fortune," Giuseppe Verdi said.
